About Us

Carmel Pack 1 has been serving youth in our community since 1974.  We have scouts from all the Carmel School District schools (KPS, KES, MPES, GFMS). Our pack serves grades 1st through 5th.  We currently have 35 scouts living in Carmel, Lake Carmel, Stormville, Holmes, Patterson, and Brewster.  Our unit is a very active unit.  We currently have one of the largest packs in  Putnam County thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and committed parents.

We have a pack activity every month along with our pack meetings and den meetings.  We believe in having fun while learning.  We have many fun annual events such as the Pine Wood Derby, the Blue and Gold, Bike Hike, Rocket Day, the Raingutter Regatta and of course our annual weekend of cabin camping at Durland Scout Reservation.  The campout is a fun-filled all-inclusive weekend for the scouts with plenty of activities, crafts, hiking, and games.

With registration, our pack provides scouts with a class B pack shirt.  We believe that the scouts will stay interested and committed if they are in dens with their friends.  To that end, we make every effort to assign children to dens where they have school friends or neighborhood friends.  This makes their experience that much better.

Carmel Pack 1 is a hugely successful program that gives boys and girls a sense of belonging while reinforcing a sense of community.  We value our community and are active in most community events.  We work hard at being good citizens and our efforts to keep the community thriving.
