Welcome to Carmel Pack 1

Carmel Pack 1 is a cub scout pack that offers fun-filled events and activities for children grades K through 5, ages 5 through 11. With the help of many dedicated volunteers, we are able to offer a great program that benefits children on many levels. Our program offers the kids an opportunity to develop good citizenship, good sportsmanship, spiritual growth, character development, personal achievement and so much more. We do this in a fun and collaborative way.

Some of the things we do include meeting in small groups called dens, meeting together as a pack, Pinewood Derby races, camping, carnival games, Rain Gutter Regatta and much more. We also participate in community events like the annual Holiday Parade, community clean-ups, toys for tots, food pantry collections and other important events. And, we join Scouts BSA (5th - 12th-grade children) at events like the Thunderbird games and the Webelos Klondike.

Our next Pack meeting is only a week away and there are some items that everyone should be bringing with them:

For returning Scouts, a check for $200 made out to Carmel Pack One. This will cover your registration fees with BSA ($150) and your Carmel Pack One dues for 2023. Please reach out to Gustavo Armaza (gus_armaza@yahoo.com) if you would like to discuss a payment plan. We never want anyone to leave over the registration fees involved.

Putnam CAP Donations

Dear scouting families,

In keeping with the scouting principle of helping other people at all times and the holiday theme of generosity, Carmel Pack One will be collecting food for the Putnam Community Action Partnership. Our donation will help local families cook their own Thanksgiving meal. We will be collecting items such as canned or nonperishable foods. If you would like to chip in with other families and purchase a turkey (or if you have a free turkey from Shoprite that you do not need), feel free to donate that. Putnam CAP is also collecting grocery store gift cards or monetary donations. Wow, what a day we had at the Drew Fall Fest yesterday! Thank you so much to the 22 Scouts!! and 8 leaders that came out to help run games, lead crafts, perform skits, and tell scary stories. In speaking with the folks from Drew UMC, our sponsor and chartered organization, they were so appreciative of all the help that we were able to provide them in putting on this festival for the first time.
